Parish Safeguarding Policy

St Michael’s Parish is committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children, young people and vulnerable adults.

As part of this Commitment, A Child Safety and Professional Standards Committee was established in 2016 and has worked to ensure compliance with Child Safety standards and to promote a culture of safety for all parishioners. Our Committee meets to address the impact of recent regulatory developments and ensure our processes, policies and practices are current and effective. Safeguarding Children and Young People - Code of Conduct Declaration for All Volunteers

Archdiocesan clergy, employees and volunteers are committed to upholding a duty of care to all children and young people and taking all reasonable steps to protect children and young people from all forms of abuse and harm. Therefore, the completion of the Child Safety Code of Conduct Declaration is a requirement of a person’s engagement within a Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne parish, agency or entity.

Please click here to download, read and sign the Declaration Form. The completed form can be emailed to the Parish Office at or if you are unable to access through the website, we will prepare hardcopies to be made available at the church or to be collected from the Parish Office when we are able to do so.

Please note that if you are on any of our rosters as a volunteer during Mass or is a member of any of our Parish Committee, then you are by definition a Volunteer at St Michaael’s Parish.
